Using Your Skills to Help Charities
In the early 1990s we were working in our office with a sales rep from a major Toronto merchandise company. He was wearing a pin with what seemed like a Canadian version of my old school in Australia.
He explained he was a member of a service club. And invited Rod to a meeting in down town Toronto. They were part of one of the largest service clubs in Canada.
Rod loved using his skills to promote their events. A number of years later he became their president. That year we raised $50,000 for the Special Olympics We were awarded Club of the year in Ontario and Rod was awarded Man of the year LOL. |
